Sliding door got stucked
« on: September 23, 2017, 05:17:53 AM »
Does anyone out there got any suggestions on 'how to remove a sliding patio door that has been "settled" on, so there is not enough room to lift it free'? The door seems to be fine, but I need to put a repair rail under it and would like to replace the rollers. The wheel adjusters are also stuck. Should I try to jack up the header, cut down the door slightly, and trim the track or header? It's an aluminum southern Cal. 8' X 36" door.  My DH was pretty good at solving these issues, but since he is away, I need to help myself getting this fixed. I'm also considering calling a sliding patio door repair service in Ottawa if I can't help myself getting it fixed. I would love to hear your input on this issue. Please help!
