The Proper closing of the pool during the winter can reduce the swimming pool repair services and cost that you have to pay for the pool. So make sure that you are following proper instructions to close the pool. Here are some guidelines for closing the swimming pool.
Pool Chemical Balance
Ensure to maintain an ideal chemical balance for the swimming pool. A pool is said to be balanced when it has pH of 7.2-7.8 and alkalinity of 180-120 ppm.
Shock the pool and use strong chlorine or non-chlorine substitute to remove the algae and bacteria present in the pool.
After a few days, add algaecide to remove the further existing algae and bacteria. Make sure that you have completely removed the algae from the pool because it will result in pool discoloration.
Drain and empty all your plumbing equipment as part of the pool closing. Otherwise, it would get expanded by the frozen water inside it.
Pool cover
Keep the pool secured with a high-quality pool cover. Pool cover resists water, weather and pool chemicals and keeps out leaves and dust.
