What should I be looking for in a good door?
« on: February 17, 2016, 03:27:10 PM »
In terms of saving money on my heating bills? Are there certain materials that are better - for example should I go with wood or an artificial material? Is there anything else you'd look at personally?

If energy is your only concern, then avoid ducth doors at all costs. Also make sure the lock is of the modern sort with a small key, not an older style lock with a 1cm keyhole that allows warm air to escape. Other than that, UPVC is a good material choice as it doesn't rot or chip.

While choosing your front door it is always apt to be on with the right size, the material used to make it and the perfect colour combinations and style also does matter. I was initially puzzled while selecting the front door for my house which is why I had consulted with few of my friends and finally they had passed me a solution for this by providing me with an article showing the things to be considered before getting your front door. This was what they had sent me, http://northtechwindows.ca/2016/01/29/3-factors-in-choosing-a-perfect-entry-door/
This might help u :)

There are alot of great doors but I believe UPVC Doors always hold great quality and will last you than most doors. Its features are also recyclable which allows you to have a greener life. Have a browse of some of the great benefits on Greenmatch at our windows and doors--> http://www.greenmatch.co.uk/upvc-windows

Dutch doors can be made more energy efficient with the type of material chosen. https://www.conservatoryhub.com/Forum/doors-39/are-dutch-doors-less-energy-efficient/
